Meet SODyZYM, a naturally derived manganese SOD.
Produced through fermentation. Investigated in human studies.
01 / ABOUT SODyZYM
Your antioxidant defense system
includes an enzyme called SOD.
SOD stands for Superoxide Dismutase. This enzyme converts superoxide, a type of reactive oxygen species. Other enzymes, including catalase and glutathione peroxidase, then continue the antioxidant process.
SODyZYM is a manganese SOD enzyme ingredient made by fermenting naturally derived Bacillus microorganisms and purifying the resulting enzyme.

This describes the general biological role of SOD and does not imply that supplementation produces the same effects.
02 / OUR DIFFERENCE
Explore its origins, how it is produced,
and the research behind it.
Derived from naturally occurring Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, this SOD uses manganese as its cofactor.
NATURALLY DERIVEDWe use our proprietary microbial strain to produce SOD through fermentation, then purify it to create the enzyme ingredient.
CRAFTED BY FERMENTATIONBacillus-derived SOD, the ingredient behind SODyZYM, has been investigated in human studies with results published in scientific journals.
HUMAN STUDIESOUR FERMENTATION PROCESS
HLB Genex produces SOD through fermentation using a microbial strain developed in-house. From cultivation and fermentation to purification, this process creates the SODyZYM enzyme ingredient.

03 / HUMAN EVIDENCE
Understand the findings
alongside the study conditions.
Healthy adults received Bacillus-derived SOD or a placebo. Researchers compared antioxidant markers before and after an aerobic exercise challenge.
WHAT THE STUDY OBSERVED
Researchers observed lower exercise-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and increased SOD activity in red blood cells.
Changes in antioxidant defenses were reported, including catalase activity and reduced glutathione (GSH) levels.
These results were observed under specific exercise-challenge conditions. They do not guarantee the same response or everyday health benefits for everyone.
This study compared GF101, a Bacillus-derived SOD, with coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF).
HOW TO READ THE RESULTS
Serum catalase increased significantly from baseline after 12 weeks in the GF101 group (p=0.004).
Between-group differences in changes in serum SOD and catalase were not statistically significant.
This study involved a specific patient population. It does not establish fertility benefits for the general public or an infertility treatment effect.

Human studies involve people, while preclinical studies use cells, animals or other models. Animal findings cannot be directly interpreted as benefits in humans. This page focuses on human studies. The formulations, doses and participant characteristics in these studies may differ from those of finished consumer products.
